My Grandpa

Anyone who knows me knows that my grandpa is without a doubt hands down one of the most important people in my life, ever. I was a Grandpa's Girl from the start and tonight, when I was bawling on the phone for four hours, it was my Grandpa listening to me. I can never express enough how much this man means to me, or my family in general. He has always been of the mindset that he didn't have a lot growing up (and who would, growing up during WWII with seven brothers and sisters on a farm in rural Minnesota?) so he was bound and determined that his kids and grandkids wouldn't have the same trouble. I can never ever thank him enough. Ever. Nothing will ever be enough to show him how important he is to me. In a strange way, the movie 'Big Fish' reminds me of him - he is a big fish in a small pond, that is for sure, his life is definitely too big for this world to hold, and the stories he's told me since I was little, well, I wasn't sure I believed all of them, but after I saw this movie, I no longer question a single word he's ever said. The movie itself is great anyway, even though it is a Tim Burton flick, who I can live without. This movie just had extra meaning to me. I am truly the luckiest girl in the whole world to have the family I do.
